To all those who are praying for me…
THANK YOU!
Welp, I guess that requires a story. Todays chapter is on how my day, which was supposed to be very uneventful, turned really scary. Lets see, I woke up at 2pm, which is ok since I went to bed around 7am, and promptly put on my body armor and waited for the mortars to stop. I think we counted six. After that I took a shower and went over to the air force side (with a short stop at the bx for money and food) to play some counterstrike or just have a nice place to read. Welp, nobody was playing counterstrike, and so I started watching Ever After (already about midway through) and ate chips and bean dip (since someone told me I should…) After the movie, I read some, studied my Japanese, and generally did boring things. (I did find out, however, that they have all of Neon Genesis Evangelion on DVD! I’m going to have to check it out and watch it again!)
Well, this is where it gets interesting. Somewhere in the middle of reading one of my Elminster books, I heard a swoosh, and a plunk sound. Everyone was like, wtf! Then we heard the sirens. And everyone was again, like WTF, mate! Er.. yea.. And soon after, all the MP’s came running in saying GET OUT OF HERE! You can imagine all the WTF’s and all. So we all run out of the tent, and notice a mortar (big kind, big bolla boom type, get the picture) sticking out of the ground not even six feet from the tent we were all in. Lets just say, someone up there must like me for it not to have gone off. We had to sit around and wait for EOD (bomb people) to come and take care of it. After the drove off with it inside one of their cool bomb trailers, we went back and all stared at the hole in the ground where it hit.
So, thanks for the prayers, and keep them coming. And it’s saturday now, so I don’t have to worry about any Friday the 13th superstitions. 🙂
After that my day goes back to being boring. I came back here, called my wife and got online. Fun fun, ne? (ok ok! Before I get yelled at, talking to my wife was NOT boring! It was fun! I love her very much! 😉
Anyways, I’m going to chat with people and try to dispel my loneliness with good friends. I’ve very glad I have Tina to look over me from home, and to take care of things. She’s truly the driving force that keeps me going strong out here. anirabbit is a very nice person who I just met, and whom has a very bright future. She also does very good art and writes well. A pleasant friend to have. She was also nice enough to talk to me most of the night. It helped alleviate the boredom and I really appreciate that. knightcat is also a good friend whom I enjoy talking to. She recommends stuff like bean dip, although how she knows that stuff I have no clue. Oh yea, Tina’s little sister… I can’t forget her. It’s really hard to talk to a 10 year old for hours, but she’s fun. She’s trying to win Yu-Gi-Oh tickets, and I wish her luck! 😛 The best part is when she and Tina start fighting over me… Katie thinks she’s going to steal me away from Tina. It’s really cute 😛
Anyways, that’s my chapter for the day. I hope you all stay safe, and I thank you all again!
And I’m going to chat with people until I get kicked off and then watch the stars until I get tired. Night!
